Prompt

Design a flatpack table that can be assembled in 2 minutes, using only a 2x4ft sheet of plywood and 1 CNC operation

Concept

We decided on a core theme of an abstracted music waveform. Multiple rounds of sketching and laser cut scale models brought us to this final design, which tied the theme through the object’s form and function.

Traditional Joinery

Since the design uses no glue or fasteners, traditional half laps and mortise and tenon joints securely lock the structure together.

Built-in Storage

Grooves on the undersides of the horizontal stretchers act as slots to hold the records vertically.
